No, this blog is not about coming to a fork in the road and having to choose which path to take. It’s about the road that I took to get to my current weight and the fork (spoon, knife, bowl, plate, etc…) that I did not just glance at while I happily passed on by. Instead I stopped, introduced myself and we became fast friends.
It was a toxic relationship from the start. I often made this new friend my everything. Whether I needed a distraction, comfort or just a good time, my new friend was there.
Years later I see what a toxic, co-dependent relationship we had and I’ve begun to put our friendship in its rightful place. I don’t want to end the relationship all together but I now know that one friend can’t be my everything.
